When I was much younger, I would sometimes drive my parents and teachers crazy by constantly asking “Why?”. I was always curious, and a simple answer of “that’s just the way it is” never satisfied. We’ve embraced this way of thinking within our firm, always looking for ways to improve upon the status quo. One of my favorite quotes from Mark Twain resonates, “When you find yourself on the side of the majority, it’s time to pause and reflect.”
Loren is passionate about helping people prepare for and get the most out of their retirement. This has been his ongoing mission ever since graduating from Central College in 2005 and joining the financial services profession the following year. He loves to learn- whether from reading books, participating in study groups, completing financial designations, or attending financial planning conferences, Loren is always striving to get better. One avenue this has led to is taking a deep dive into health and nutrition. Loren believes it’s important to integrate wellness planning with financial planning so retirees can enjoy the fruits of their labor without worry of health constraints slowing them down!
Loren grew up in Lake Mills, a small town in northern Iowa. After attending Central College in Pella, he made his way to Des Moines and eventually found his wife, Ashley. In 2018, he and Ashley moved to Waukee where they reside with their three rescue dogs- Callie, Roxy, and Mr. Edward. When Loren isn’t reading or relaxing around the house with family, he will often be found on the bike trails, a golf course, or enjoying anything outdoors. He and Ashley are also members of Hope Church in West Des Moines, and always looking for more ways to make a difference in the community.
We’ve made the financial planning process as simple and as transparent as possible while still addressing the complexities of planning for different lifestyle variables. Transparent financial planning costs, coupled with a relentless effort to provide the best experience possible, help create the perfect environment for pre/post retirees to work through their retirement fears and insecurities, and create a plan for purposeful retirement.
We are here to help!
Logan grew up in the small town of Fontanelle, IA and graduated from Luther College with a degree in business/management. After graduation, he lived in Houston, TX for two years and grew to appreciate the changing season of Iowa while living there.
He resides in West Des Moines, with his daughter Macklyn. When not working with clients he enjoys spending his time coaching wrestling, reading and doing anything outside with Macklyn. Especially biking the trail system around Des Moines to new parks, fishing, and time at the lake.
My priority is the highest client experience possible. With three bachelor’s degrees in Psychology, Family Studies and Social Work, it’s easy to see why I’m all about client service. It’s a conscious decision to partner with an upfront, fiduciary Registered Investment Advisor, because, by definition, clients’ interests come first. My master’s degree in Education, with an emphasis in Instructional Technology, only adds to my expertise as Client Service Specialist, easily guiding clients through complicated electronic processes and managing the many moving parts of custodial paperwork and cashiering.
Working in the charter school space as the Accounts Payable Manager at Massa Financial Solutions for over six years, Heather gained much experience in cultivating & maintaining client relationships as well as establishing & implementing sustainable practices. Currently, Heather is also part-owner and Managing Member of her local artist co-op, Harbour View Gallery, where she sells her artwork and serves as Treasurer.
An artist at heart, Heather’s down time usually involves creating something – most frequently cold fusion art jewelry. However, her interests are eclectic. On any given day, you might find her filming sunrise & sunset time lapses, playing with her senior rescue dog Sadie, teaching online jewelry design classes, practicing Kundalini yoga or reading a good book for the umpteenth time.
One of the guiding principles that I adopted early on in my professional life is the importance of always acting with integrity and adhering to a strong sense of business ethics. Whether it was a manager, colleague, client or vendor, I always sought to treat the other person with courtesy and respect. Over the years, I have not strayed or compromised on this core value.
